Beschreibung: | This thesis analyzes the underlying strategic and behavioral motivation of firms' (anti) competitive conduct in oligopolistic markets. The first part of this thesis analyzes the strategic motivation for competitive and anti-competitive behavior of firms in an oligopolistic market where product characteristics can be altered through fix cost investment. In the second part of the thesis the behavioral motivations of firms conduct in the context of two cartel coordination problems where non standard-preferences for profits may emerge. The thesis underlines that behavioral aspects may influence (anti-)competitive behavior as much as pure pecuniary motives.
